Independent production company based in Kent, UK. We write, direct and produce new writing for the stage and less traditional venues, like hotels, coffee shops and pubs. Our passion is getting new work in front of interested audiences, whatever the format. Our output ranges from plays and live comedy, to performance poetry and storytelling. We’re the people behind Faversham Fringe, Comedy Lock-In, and Folkestone StoryMap.
All Arts Organisation in Folkestone
Folkestone Fringe is an artist-led organisation committed to creating opportunities and projects which connect people to each other and the place that we live.
We want our audiences to see, watch, hear, and learn new things – our work includes several annual festivals, as well as one that runs alongside the Creative Folkestone Triennial. Our programmes are created in conversation with others and delivered by young people developing their future working in the arts.
We believe in the transformative power of art – both in a personal sense, and also as a way of highlighting societal issues and driving social change. By creatively empowering individuals, we contribute to making Folkestone an exciting, vibrant, and fulfilling place to live and visit.
The Folkestone Performing Arts Centre [FPAC] is the only small, independently run venue dedicated to making space for performing artists [professional & non-professional theatre-makers, dancers, musicians, etc] to investigate their craft, train, incubate new work and showcase it to audiences in southeast Kent. Located at the Sunflower House in the centre of Folkestone, it also serves as a vibrant hub at the heart of our community that inspires locals of all ages to take creative risks to shape the future and stir social change.
We currently run a community theatre group, a small ensemble and a playwrighting group. If you are interested in joining any of them, please do get in touch.
